Welcome to the online home of ceilidh band London, Stumpy Oak!

We are a group of ceilidh and barn dance musicians with many years of experience, and perform all over the UK.

We play for all types of event including weddings, parties, festivals, fundraisers and even funerals. Our musical repertoire draws upon a rich heritage of traditional folk music. A diverse offering of English, Irish, Scottish and Celtic tunes are sure to get your feet tapping! Leading Musicians

Our team of professional musicians have appeared at leading folk festivals throughout the country. Two band members have reached the final of the BBC Young Folk Awards, whilst another won the St Albans New Roots competition for young folk performers. A number of our musicians have CD releases and have been featured on either BBC Radio 2 or Radio 3. You can hear what we sound like by visiting our welcome page and selecting a sound clip.
 

Flexible Packages

Looking for a DJ/disco or ceremony music as well as a ceilidh band? We can arrange this too, making your life far less stressful. We can provide award-winning DJs and classical musicians, e.g. harp, string quartet, piano and bagpipes. An additional benefit is that using a single sound system on the day minimises disruption – and so leaves maximum time for dancing!
