Essex Barn Dance Band

Greetings from Essex barn dance / ceilidh band, Stumpy Oak!

We’re a lively group of barn dance musicians with many years of experience who perform all over Essex and the neighbouring East Anglian counties of Suffolk, Cambridgeshire, Hertfordshire and Norfolk.

We perform for many different types of event including parties, weddings, festivals, pub gigs and fundraisers. The band’s repertoire draws upon a rich collection of folk music from the British Isles. A infectious selection of English, Irish, Scottish and Celtic traditional tunes are used to get your feet tapping without delay! Professional Team

Our bunch of talented musicians have appeared at leading folk festivals. Two band members reached the final of the BBC Young Folk Awards, and another won the New Roots competition for folk performers in St Albans. Our players have album releases to their name and have been featured nationally on either BBC Radio 2 or Radio 3. Flexible Options

We provide award-winning DJs and classical musicians from leading conservatoires, e.g. harp, string quartet, piano and bagpipes.
