Essex Ceilidh Band

Greetings from Essex ceilidh and barn dance band, Stumpy Oak!

We’re a lively group of ceilidh musicians with many years of experience who perform all over Essex and neighbouring East Anglian counties of Suffolk, Hertfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Norfolk.

Stumpy Oak performs for many different events including weddings, parties, festivals, pubs and fundraisers. The band’s repertoire draws upon a rich pool of folk music from the British Isles. A lively selection of English, Irish, Scottish and Celtic traditional tunes are used to get your feet tapping! Talented Performers

Our team of professional musicians have appeared at leading folk festivals around the country. Two members reached the final of the BBC Young Folk Awards, and another won the New Roots competition for young folk performers in St Albans. Our performers have album releases and have been featured on national radio including BBC Radio 2 or Radio 3.
